My Favorite Tools: Balsa Nibs with Sumi Ink

My favorite tool this month are the balsa wood nibs used with sumi ink. Perfect to travel with and fun for summer projects. Balsa wood is flexible, creates different textures, fun, challenging and works on any paper. With my current handicap (trigger finger) holding a pen has been difficult. This tool allows any of my digits to move without gripping and strain. Yukimi Annand, Marina Soria and many other teachers have influenced me to do nature lettering. Colorado’s natural environment has so much to offer especially in the summer, so I hope you enjoy writing with challenging tools.
